Fried Chocolate Donut Recipe

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup milk

2 tbsp butter, melted

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

Oil, for frying

Directions

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky.

Heat about 2 inches of oil in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F.

Scoop the dough by the tablespoonful and carefully drop it into the hot oil. Fry the donuts in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the donuts for 1-2 minutes on each side, until they are puffed and set.

Remove the donuts from the oil with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Repeat with the remaining dough.

Serve the donuts warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with chocolate glaze.

 Enjoy!
